Concert To Kick-Start PANAFEST

The PANAFEST Foundation in collaboration with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will hold a fund-raising concert at the Kumasi Sports Stadium tomorrow. The music extravaganza will also pay tribute to the legendary reggae Musician and Pan-Africanist, late Bob Nester Marley.

Among the nation’s Top Artistes who will feature on the show are Nana Tufuor, Pat Thomas, Sydney, AB Crentsil, Paapa Yankson, Kojo Akwabua, Nana Quame, Nat Brew and sensational King David.

PANAFEST and Emancipation Day is a bi-annual cultural event dedicated to the enhancement of the ideals of Pan-Africanism and the development of the African continent, organised for Africans and people of African descent as well as all persons committed to the well-being of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora.

Its goal is to establish the truth about the history of Africa and the experiences of the African people using the vehicle of African arts and culture. PANAFEST, by its diverse character, projects a potential of being the most prestigious and indeed the most relevant cultural event on the African continent.

For Ghanaian artistes, PANAFEST and Emancipation Day offer the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills.

Tomorrow is just the beginning of great things to come for the greatest African Cultural event, which will be held in Accra, Cape Coast, Elmina and Kumasi from July 25 to August 6, 2003.
