ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO, WHILE THERE WAS A MOGO SHOW GOING ON AT THE CULTURAL CENTRE IN ACCRA, I OVERHEARD SOME SENIOR MUSICIANS DISCUSSING THE ILLEGAL USE OF THE NAME OF A PRODUCTION COMPANY CALLED FREEDOM FAMILY PRODUCTION, WHEN A BAND CALLED FREEDOM FAMILY BAND PLAYED WITH LEE DODU FROM BERLIN, GERMANY. MANY OF THE MUSICIANS WERE ASKING A MAN THEY KEPT ADDRESSING AS DIRECTOR, AND OTER OLDER MUSICIANS LIKE PAT THOMAS, REFERRING TO THIS MAN AS DJAN WHETHER HIS COMPANY, THE FREEDOM FAMILY PRODUCTION WAS PRODUCING KOJO ANTWI. THE SAID DIRECTOR OR MR DJAN ANSWERED NO, AND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD BEEN ASKING HIM, MR DJAN THE SAME QUESTIONS. IT WAS CONFIRMED DURING THE DISCUSSION THAT KOJO ANTWI WAS USING THE NAME ILLEGALLY ON HIS CDS AND CASSETTES TO SELL HIS MUSIC, AND THAT THIS ILLEGAL PRACTICE ON THE PART OF KOJO ANTWI HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. WE WERE ALL SURPRISED WHY MR DJAN WOULD NOT TAKE ANY LEGAL ACTION AGAINST KOJO ANTWI.
I AM THEREFORE NOT SURPRISED READING THIS FROM MR. AMBOLLEY. KOJO ANTWI COULD REALLY BE A CHEAT, AND VERY THIEVING.

You people dissing Ambolley are missing the point. He is saying that Ghamro is corrupt and fails to account to their members for revenue received from radio stations and how that money which belongs to musicians is distribut ...

He is saying that Ghamro is corrupt and fails to account to their members for revenue received from radio stations and how that money which belongs to musicians is distributed. Its exactly the same at Musiga who also collect subscriptions from members and receive money from the government but fail to account for it. Don't blame Ambolley, but rather look at those people who are cheating the Ghana music industry. Ambolley has not cheated anyone and yet you disrespect him more than those who are so obviously corrupt.

In fact the band had rocked people off their feet. Before then, City Fm had carried out almost a month advertising the Freedom Family Band and Lee Duodu. Please ask Kojo Antwi whether he owns The Freedom Family Band or the Company known as Freedom Family Production whose label he has illegally been using over the years.
