Obaapa Christy to support flood victims with album launch proceeds

Gospel singer, Obaapa Christy has pledged to support victims of Wednesday's flood disaster with proceeds from her album launch slated for 7th June, 2015.

The gospel diva says last Wednesday’s disaster at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle’s Goil Filling station and other parts of the capital, which claimed over 150 lives, was heartbreaking and that well-meaning Ghanaians should reach out to the victims.

The ‘No Fears’ hit singer made the pledge on Atinka FM’s AM show hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Friday.

“I urge all and sundry to come to the launch of my new album,“Hyebre Sesafuo” on Sunday, 2pm at Apostle Oko's Hackman Church (IDPM) at Achimota. I will use the proceeds to support victims of the Accra flood disaster.”

Obaapa added that God will restore hope to all those who have lost their loved ones in the disaster.

Other gospel artistes on the bill are ASP Kofi Sarpong, Gifty Osei, Cecilia Twum, Florence Obinim, Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing among others.

Obaapa has three albums to her credit with hit songs like, 'Onyame Ba', 'Meti Ase', 'Ayari Sa’.
