WE HAVE LIVED TOGETHER PEACEFULLY UNTIL THE USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED.
''We have been vice presidents for far too long, it is time you make ONE OF YOUR OWN President.'' - John Mahama.
WHAT ARE THE REST OF US TO JOHN MAHAMA?
WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM.
THE USELESS NDC PARTY IS TURNING ONE TRIBE AGAINST ANOTHER
TURNING ONE RELIGION AGAINST ANOTHER
THERE WAS EVEN AN ATTEMPT BY ATTA MILLS TO poison football clubs with politics just for the SELFISH INTEREST of the USELESS NDC PARTY.
Everything that unites us as a peaceful nation is under attack by the USELESS NDC PARTY. Before they divide Ghana and leave us in shreds VOTE THE USELESS NDC PARTY OUT IN 2016.
We have lived peacefully without any TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS POLITICS before the USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED and their manifesto signed with blood. We don't need any division in Ghana. WE ARE INTER-MARRIED, AND WE ARE ONE PEOPLE. NDC IS DANGEROUS, VOTE THEM OUT IN 2016.

Separation of religion and state is the ultimate solution to suppress the escalating religious intolerance in Ghana. The real hurtful truth is that there is no God, however these two foreign religions have been fighting for supremacy, by any means necessary, over 2000 years around the world. Now they are trying to turn our schools into battlefields. No way! Keep them out of our public schools. Mission schools should be more tolerant and admit with students of all faiths. After all both religions claim to worship one God, the God of Moses. In fact, religion is the greatest curse on humanity because millions believe in a mythical God ruling from a nonexistent heaven. Why allow these two groups of religious fundamentalists, muslims and christians, to ruin our educational system which has always been structured to promote peaceful coexistence among all students of diverse backgrounds?

A president represents the nation, not a party. stop seeing him with your political lenses. I am not a follower of Mahama, but he was on point. wtf is Ghana turning into? president cannot talk about what the constitution says about religious freedom??? Now people sit home and hide behimd keyboards and anonymity and jump on Ghanaweb and talk nonsense because of NDC-NPP nonsense. Times have changed, schools must not force anybody to attend worship against his will. School assembly is obligatory, but worship, or devotion or whatever religious things, must be voluntary. Muslims don't force Christian students to do sala or go to friday prayers in Islamic mission schools, so why should we force them to go to devotion and church services? Even government schools have been turned to Christian schools. Times have changed. Things must change.

Hmm, when u go to Nigeria, muslims are the cause of the conflicts and violence there, but in this country would one day put this country to flame as we continue to have disregard for the muslim community. I am a TRUE believer of Jesus Christ and I know what I am saying. Most christians in this country discriminate alot against muslims. If we really know what Christ stands for, I don't think we will be ignorantly displaying our arrogance anyhow in the name of christianity. We woo people to follow christ, we don't coerce them. Let's eschew away these pharaseetic and sudaseetic methodologies and go out with the aim of winning souls for Christ. Anyway, isn't it funny that moral fabric of this country is going down the drain when most of our public and civil servants were trained by these christian schools?

The current Christian-Muslim feud is a dangerous precipice for our descent into the kind of inter-religious violence occurring elsewhere in our Sub-region and in the Middle-East. We should not play into the hands of those hoping to see us run our Country aground.
Our Clergy who reacted to the Muslim Students protesting an alleged discrimination against them on Campuses, should have restrained themselves to present the complaints to the our Inter-Religious Council and the GES for a more peaceful and final resolution.
The Muslim Students could have as well been put to the demonstration by some shrewd Muslim radicals who might be always waiting for an opportunity to import the nasty and dangerous Boko Haram ideology into the Country.
It was therefore necessary that our Clergy should have known better to manage their response to that demonstration in a way that wouldn't let the situation escalate into what the 'Boko Haramers' might be seeking for.
Unfortunately, the Catholic Authorities led the way to make certain pronouncements that drew out the President to comment on the situation in a way that did not sit well with some of the Christian leaders. But what exactly did the President say wrong?
We must not take our long existing harmonious religious cohabitation in Ghana for granted. It is a huge aspect of our Nation's character that many outsiders envy. And it holds one of the keys to our Nation's resilience with which it has always rebound from other adversities, especially Political and Economic.
If we fool around with that religious Harmony under any guise, at all, no matter which side might want to claim its views superior in the specific demands of the Students, Ghana could easily and hastily descend into an almost irrecoverable chaos.
We have to acknowledge that the current widespread Economic hardship that seems to have overtaken the Government, has some role to play in the fast deterioration of people's stance against the President on his response to this Christian-Muslim crisis. But we must honestly concede that the Students' demand has nothing at all to do with the Presidents' failure, perceived or real, in handling the Economy and our infrastructural situation.
Our Christian leaders, especially, the Clergy must understand that as much as their Missions might have the largest influence in our Educational history, and still hold a domineering presence in most Schools, today, does not give them the justification to usurp the rights of the Muslim Students, and/or Students of any other religious groups. Similarly, the Muslim Students must understand that they cannot be allowed any more rights than our Constitution offers all religions and individuals.
We must therefore not necessarily dwell on only what has long been the tradition of how mixed religious groups have interacted on Campuses but more on the Constitution to guide us to correctly allow entities or stakeholders enjoy their religious rights in Schools without hindrance.
The Christians must not assume that if they had, for Centuries, succeeded in imposing restrictive but now unconstitutional rules in their schools on members of other religions, like Muslims, it somehow renders the demands of the protesting Students illogical and unacceptable.
Most of us have long endured a certain suppression of some of our rights, either through lack of knowledge of our full eligibility to enjoy those rights, or simply acquiescing to avoid making the imposers uncomfortable and antagonize us. Sometimes our realization suddenly erupts to the fore to cause us to demand a redress to such long existing injustice. Sometimes, circumstances change to embolden us to demand those rights we have long acquiesced not to claim.
Therefore, before anyone jumps to condemn the President or the Muslim Students, on this issue, it behooves that person to objectively assess the claims the Students made to see how Constitutional they are.
Some have already politicized the Students' protest in Partisan terms, because the President made his authoritative comment on the situation. Could anyone tell us what exactly the President said that was not in his purview, or must be taken only as sheer politicking to court the votes of the Muslims?
If the Christian Authorities and the Opposition simply take the President's comments for just scoring political points, they would be making a serious mistake and their reactive comments are those that would fuel the conflict and nudge it unto the laps of 'Boko Haramers', assuming the initial protest by the Students was not pushed by these terrorists.
We should respond to the Students and the President more wisely than the insults some of the Clergy and political foes of the President have been doing to keep the discussion from being capitalized upon by those who want to see Ghana suffer the same chaotic fate as Nigeria and other Countries around us.
Our response to both the Students and the President need not be confrontational. It is only wise that the Students' demands be assessed on their own merits, and not under any spurious conjecture. Honestly, the fact that we still have 'dumsor' does not preclude the President's responsibility to tackle other issues, however higher we may prioritize the 'dumsor' catastrophe.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Being a Moslem or Christian should not be accepted or encouraged as a Ghanaian identity. At best we can only accept a description of only a Ghanaian of a Moslem or Christian faith or even no faith. We should also start regarding ourselves only as a Ghanaian from whatever region or so callled tribe if indeed necessary at all!!
