  Ama you know that is a big lie, you people in the entertainment industry prefer light skinned people than dark skinned these days. Show us the proof that most of the Nigerian and Ghanaian movies leading roles are not dominated by our light skinned brothers and sisters, almost all our African movies are guilty of that crime. Just admit its true because the movies don't reflect what you are saying so far...

  That's refusing to accept the obvious. Same in Hollywood,how many dark girls are winning? After 12 years a slave, you think lupita still winning, looks like it, but in reality no, she's limited. She would have gone higher if she were light. Most black American actresses in Hollywood get lighter movie after movie, they know they get more roles. The truth hurts, but you gotta come to terms with it. The way the world is going, there'll be a time when only few women would have this beautiful black skin.

Instead of her to come up with ideas as to how the industry can eliminate this perception which alot of people agree on she is rather denying it. Go on and live in denial, does she think for instance if Juliet Ibrahim or Nadia Buari were dark dark skinned sisters they would have gotten all those roles in movies obviously their color is what they are riding not about talent because there are alot of dark skinned sisters who

I feel when you know what's going on, you can educate the young dark girls to love themselves, and not give in to this bleaching thing. I feel the producers of skin bleaching chemicals are part of this, a way to get dark women feel low about themselves and seek for ways to be accepted meaning toning(bleaching). This is far from jealousy

  Shay i dont like any form form of altering the natural way of things except to save a life or something like that. Yes, i accept that some people are not comfortable with who they are and are bleaching to look lighter, its bad. But the solution is not to turn on fair skinned people and try to minimise them or take things away from them just to make dark skinned people feel better about themselves. Now adays, the popular saying is "oh she is not beautifu, she is just fair" just to make the dark person feel better. Thats not a solution, that will create problems elsewhere. All these insecurities about skin colour are in the mind... beauty anyway is not in colour but the personality. thats what we should be teaching and stop fair people this, fair people that, fair people this. thats not the solution. In Ghana wat do we say? "tumtum se ewio" which means "dark and lovely", we have songs about the proverbial "SERWA AKOTO", that is position of a nation on colour...no shades. America has its perculiar problems from perculiar roots...we cant compare this our little cream-cream issues to that. In any case, if you are truely talented, nothing can be taken away from you! Genevieve Nnaji, Ama Abebrese, Yvonne Okoro and others prove that!! We need to educate people granted, we dont have to make them feel they are entitled.

  That's how I feel, we have to educate the young and let them feel confident about themselves, light or dark believing in oneself is more important. But in every case we always tend to dwell more on who is being negatively affected most, and in this case is the dark girls, that's why there's more talks on them accepting and loving themselves. You don't see light girls trying to be dark, so we should also wish for a world where dark skin also don't want to be light, you know what I mean?
