Ghana populised it by adding different rythem and touches as mention by DR.TRUTH,and was not known as highlife in the beggining,it was just a style/rythem played by some locals at palmwine drinking spots till later other instruments were added to it which changed it all to what we had in some years back(remember PALMWINE HIGHLIFE /GUITAR BAND HIGHLIFE etc..the rythems are what DR.TRUTH mention above.lt is a Ghanaian music and GHANA IS WELL CREDITED FOR THAT, no denial.There are plans of a rear SANKOFA HIGHLIFE PROJECT which include all OLD / NEW highlife musician including some foriegn guitarists just to revive our rich highlife with pure and heavy sounds, and also tap into the new and talented too...SO STAY INTOUCH.thanks
