Rocky Dawuni has been touring the United States since May last year, after his "2nd Rocky Dawuni's Independence Splash" concerts in March 2002 at The National Theatre and La Pleasure Beach. 10 million people watched the first concert live which GTV transmitted from the National Theatre on 5th March, 2002. An estimated 35,000 ecstatic fans were at the La Pleasure Beach the following day, Independence Day, for the second concert.

Rocky's first show after leaving Ghana last year, was at the opening day of the season at The Hollywood Bowl on May 4th. There was a great crowd in attendance with live music, gourmet food fair, and a live broadcast on two of Los Angeles' local FM stations. Other performances included Swingin' Deacons, The Henry Mancini Institute Alumni Jazz Ensemble, and hula by the Halau Keali'i O Nalani dancers.

Rocky's next appeared at 19th & Broadway in Fairfax California on Sunday, May 26, which was his second performance in Marin County. His first was a smashing show in 2000 at "Reggae on the River." The crowds were there to receive a repeat performance. They were never disappointed as Rocky dished out the choicest of his signature "Roots Hop Reggae" tunes, which sent people craving for more.

On Friday May 3, the Bohemian Club in Seattle, Washington experienced Rocky in his element, rocking away the time with the crowd. On Saturday, June 15 Rocky returned to LA's favourite club, Temple Bar in Santa Monica, California, where the group "Eyedentity" opened the show.

The next event of his tour attracted many people as they came in their numbers to see Rocky under the sun at the fun beach hang out called the Chiller's in Redondo Beach on Sunday, July 7. As the music flowed and steps got hotter, the whole atmosphere was charged putting Rocky in the mood to show them a good time.

With the line up of sensational artists like Steel Pulse, Lucky Dube Burning Spear & Rocky there is no gain saying that organisers of the show on Sunday August 11, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles only wanted the roof of the house down! This was amongst many of the summer highlights for Rocky in the US and Europe.

Rocky Dawuni recently headed for Washington DC to headline a Bob Marley Day celebration at The Nation on February 9, 2003. The show also featured an Ethiopian Reggae band and MC for the event was infamous Mutabaruka, who toured Ghana in 1998 with Yellowman.
