I would have been the first to ask that question. I personally put greater emphasis on brain power than looks and I've never shied away from any argument in the regard.

I would have been the first to ask that question. I personally put greater emphasis on brain power than looks and I've never shied away from any argument in the regard.

Unfortunately, in this particular piece, the reporter led and steered the conversation in the "looks" direction and people are following that.

And to be frank with you, visual sensories of the human being is more acute than you want to accept because that's the first one of the senses used in judging physical things favourably or otherwise.
And as you can judge for yourself, that's exactly what is happening here. So even if the reporter had not steered this conversation in the 'looks' department, it would surely have come up.

One other factor is that people have come to associate obesity with an array of health issues. Scientific studies have proved that to be a fact.

So while some of the comments might seem harsh, there's the inherent worry that the said subject might not be a very healthy person, brains and all.

That's my take on the point you raised. A very good point, I will admit.
