We can't pick and choose which parts we feel more comfortable with, otherwise the whole idea of the beauty pageant loses its essence.
The swim suit portion is what makes a beauty pageant a beauty pageant.
If you think it's too 'western' for your tastes, then watch the time slot and change the channel to watch another programme.
Nothing stops you from doing that.
"I don’t want to be a hypocrite. We all love things that are sexually explicit, but sometimes it rouse the libido of most male viewers"......you really believe that?
You make it sound like it's a porn show.
You sound exactly like Mensa-Otabil when he said those who urinate publicly are likely to commit rape.
People(both men and women) have been "taking leaks" in public in Ghana long before I was born. I'm now a grown man and there has not been any statistics to prove that to be true.
So please both you and Mensa-Otabil should give the modern Ghanaian male some credit.. would ya?
The world has in a sense,'shrank' because of technology... so cultures are beginning to merge and it will keep on happening unless you shut yourself off completely which will send you back to the 'dark ages'.

Dear writer,
I wanted to inform you that Ghanaians are copycats incase you didn't know. We love everything western (whitemans stuff) . You dont need pageants to give you clues about the fact, why do some Ghanaian men wear suites and ties in a 90 degree weather? Why do some of our women also like to wear long wigs in that hot weather to feel beautiful? Most girls on the streets of Gh wants to look like a white girl with long hair dont even talk abt those who bleach. We have low self confidence, we try so hard to be what we are not, those who of us who have had the opportunity to travel to a western World would notice those white people dont even regard us as people yet alone copy our culture, they dont wear braids or walk around in african wear can you see the similarities? The slave master left Gh a long time ago but guess what we still kept their culture, we want to perfect in the queens language than our own language so dont blame the pageant organisers they are there to make money so they dont care a damn in the World as to what anyone thinks.
While I see the point in your caution, I also wanna know then why do we do it at all if it's against our culture in its totality.
