We need a progressive policy. All adverts in Ghana must be created by wholly owned Ghanaian businesses and the songs and celebrities in the adverts must be wholly Ghanaian. The celebrities and musicians must receive royalties. All the wholly owned Ghanaian entities must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB.
We must move into the era of music/movies as a service (MAAS). At least 7 out of every 10 songs, movies and TV series played on our television stations, radio stations and entertainment centres must be wholly Ghanaian and must be produced in Ghana. These stations and entertainment centres must pay on a monthly or annual basis royalties to the Ghanaian artists. The amounts paid must be reasonable taking into consideration the profits of the entertainment establishments. However they must not pay any money whatsoever to the foreign artists because of the negative effect it would have on our GDP. The Ghanaian artists must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB. Many people can recall great shows like: Kukurantumi-road to Accra, Ultimate paradise, By the fireside, I told you so, things we do for love, Akan drama with osofo dadzie, obra and co, home sweet home, TV theatre, Dr Paa Bobo´s songs etc
There is lack of will and this must change.

I thought I was the only one who wanted all these reality shows boycotted but now I know I have people who think the same. Its very unfortunate that Ghana has now gone to the dogs. Gone are the days when there were programs the reflected our culture and people took some "nhyansa" home but now things have taken the wrong path. I think those of us who feel that these reality shows are destroying our cultural system should speak out before it's too late. Had I known is always at last.

I have just written a response to another article by Ghanaweb about CID response to Castro disappearance, where I said that Ghana has become a country of Copy cats and that we copy the actions of foreigners with impunity to our detriment.
This is a classic case of what I was referring to. We import all this shows, copy all the format, copy all the actions and finally rammed it into our throats via the airwaves, but we lack the exit strategy to deal with the end results. The effect is that we leave the winners of these shows damaged forever for unfulfilled dreams.
The worst thing is the effect these imported shows have on our culture and the social developments of our youths. Our children are being fed the idea that quick fame achieved through singing, rapping, explicit acts on stage, rudeness, vulgarisms, gang and drug culture is the way forward.
Education and manners are losing out to these debauch way of life. The absolute worst thing is, our Political Ministers, Religious leaders, Our Chiefs, Our Teachers and our parents are all watching unconcerned as our childrens lives spiralled into uncontrolled lawlessness.
