The industry is in good shape. The problems, as in every single problem with Ghana film industry, stems from Opera square distributors.
They are Organized thieves.
They make their own bootleg copies of producers movies. Producers and their financiers will never see returns on their investments how much more profits. They ban the movie distribution of any producer who dare disagree with them or reports them to the authorities. They export producers movies to All other african countries, europe, asia, the Caribbean etc without the knowledge of the producers. They insist on putting the faces of recognised stars on the covers even if the stars appear for 1 minute. They don't respect or answer to anyone. Opera square is the centre of movie distribution in Ghana. They are the only distributors in the world who force you to print 20,000 copies of your own movies, whilst they print 60,000 without telling you. you show up at their shop they show you 19,000 copies of your film sitting at their shops, whilst every town you travel to you'll see thousands of copies being sold by vendors with posters they created everywhere. They have refused all measures by the producers union to attach security seals to their products, like the musicians union does. Opera Square distributers you will all go to hell for destroying the families of innocent filmmakers, and destroying the movie industry which could employ thousands of Ghanaians due to your greed and dishonesty. You Are worse than the Ebola Virus to filmmakers in Ghana.

Every industry is has its demand and supply challenges, yet the cream always rise up to the top. If you have quality scripts and take your time, and get quality acting, then your movie will end up being in demand. Create your own demand curve in an ailing industry. It is possible. Stop making these excuses, if you claim to be one of the best, then step up to the plate and deliver. I'm disappointed with this comment from Leila who is always criticizing actors and actresses for their poor acting skills, well Leila step up your directing and producing skills and start producing work that will put you in global demand, and stop making these flimsy excuses. Step up period.

Leila Djansi's comment is something most of us know and it's deeper than the analysis given here. It dose not takes only actors and actresses to make a movie. There are other equally important factors that comes to play and the market do consider those factors too in a bid of what movie the audience wants and why? You need to meet the taste of the audience in order to make your money. Having in mind that the rational behaviour of Ghanaian movie lovers is comparable to the "law of diminishing return". God Bless Ghana.
