dancehall is big but reggae is globally bigger. No african dancehall artiste can lay claim to global recognition. but one can think of Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah Fakoly and the late Lucky Dube who are worldwide roots reggae superstars with universal recognition and acclaim (even in Jamaica).
Any dancehal artiste must be super fluent in Jamaican patois but seriously when I hear our Ghanaian artistes i have to say they are way off target. any kid can tell the difference between fake and authentic. well if they want to stick to the Ghanaian market then its good but internationally, the advice is spot -on, go for roots reggae. bless.
