With what I'm reading, it's either Eddie is confused, being misinterpreted or he doesn't know what he's talking about. Note the difference between essential, big and small roles or important, major and minor roles. We the general public use words such as big and small roles but for professionals it's major and minor roles. Every role in a movie is very important because they compliment each other as you rightly sais. However, some roles can be big/major and others can be small/minor. The fact that some roles earn more than others is enough to attest to this fact some are bigger than the others. Take for instance movie extras, this is a role giving to people with little or no experience in acting and with fairness to the art, will you pay somebody playing the role of an extra the same as the one playing the leading role? For instance in a nude scene if the actors involved are not comfortable and you use another human for a body double, are you going to pay that body double the same as the actors involved? The answer is no. However, each role is very important. I haven't seen that movie "Expendables" but it's even too wrong to load tons of stars in one movie. Go put George Clooney, Halle Berry, Matt Damon, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise in one movie and see if even the world bank can raise money for that movie. You guys should do things that'll help raise the image and value of our best actors and actresses.

BS.
He doesn't know what he's talking about.
There are minor and major roles in all movies.
The only thing he was right about is that both roles make the storyline of a movie jell.
