I think Apietus got it all wrong if he's says Hip-Hop is about the language.Hip-Hop is a movement which started in the 70s basically because it was the only forum our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora had to express their views about the ills and wrongs that surrounds them.Hip-Hop is purely an African thing so if our people are trying to live and do the Hip-Hop i think its on the right course.I salute the works of Manifest,Blitz the Ambassador,Scientific,Obrafour,EL and a few more of our brothers who are trying hard to keep the spirit alive.Of course there are some who try to fake the english language and end up recording some horrible thing, and there are lots of producers who don't understand the culture of Hip-Hop and so love to do their own thing.V.I.P has recorded lots of Hip-Hop club bangers which was being produced by Apietus himself,'Besin' is a Hip-Hop club banger and i believe it was produced by apietus. so Apietus must understand the culture before condenming people. i totally agree with him about the fact that people think Hip-Hop is about slanging.Some rappers like gemini are a waste of time to me because they don't have any message in their songs, they only keep 'polishin' their english and they think they are doing Hip-Hop. Obrafour without a shred of doubt is a topmost Hip-hop artist. His first album is a classic.It can even be compared to Nas's First album Illmatic and its beacuse ot the weight of the message he had on the album and the beats Hammer produced for him.Reggie Rockstone has some mad Hip-Hop joints which can be played anywhere in the world.so i believe that if you have a message which sounds real and you have the beats which moves with the beat of the heart,then Hip-Hop is definetely in session.Long Live Real Hip-Hop!!!
