You guys don't know your history and sadly are not willing to learn. If you wish to know the birth of Afro Beat listen to the album "Africa Speaks America Answers" recorded in 1956 on the Decca label, DL 8446, in New York USA by Ghanaba, the Divine Drummer, then known as Guy Warren. It is this album which inspired Tony Allen, Fela Anikulakpo Kuti ,Osibisa and the like to follow the trail which had been blazed by Ghanaba, The Father of Afro Jazz or Afro Beat or Criss Cross Rhythms which Explode with Happiness.

Ghanaba was actually born Warren Gamaliel Akwei. I used to live very close to his father's school (the dubbed as Mantse Akwei) at Aayalolo in Accra.
Indeed, he was the true originator of Afro Beat!
