azonto has been in existence before even sarkodie was born.In short the term was derive from KPANLOGO which was created by people of GAMASHIE,comprising of BUKOM,JAMES TOWN,CHORKOR,ABOLA,AKOTO LAMPTEYetc.All part of ACCRA.All these areas have their GA cultural groups made up of drummers and dancers.One group that comes to mind is MAGBAMI in the 60s.

The Azonto dance has a lot of moves that can be attributed to some of our traditional dance moves. The fundamental move is truly from kpanlogo and even the kind of music that goes with it but there's Adowa and kete which are from the Ashanti region, there's a northern dance which I don't remember the name and finally a disco dance move which surfaced in the 80's where you role your hands continuously and points one up in the air. These were the original cum initial moves of Azonto when it became popular, then the part of washing, pounding fufu, boxing, brushing of teeth and all that crap followed. Since it hit global stage, people have added other moves to it making it so unique, but to say Azonto is kpanlogo, I'll disagree. There's a part of kpanlogo dance which forms the foundation or the fundamentals of this dance. As for who's idea it was, I have know clue but if Sarkodie did then it's his creation and let accord him as such.

Oooh! my Ghana people! we should be ashamed of ourselves. Is creating azonto dance an acheivement? People of little brains! can't we dream of better things? In this computer age, elementary school kids are inventing computer programs that can solve most of our our problems. Azonto! Is azonto a classical or international dance? What is anybody learning from it? We have been eating FUFU since generations but we have not been able to invent any machine that will make preparation of this food easier. Our engimeers are all useless people. Visit developed countries and you will see engineers with degrees working on bridges and construction sites. Ghanaians travel to China to by simple things like tooth pick to Ghana to sell. Common flimsy products like belts, hand bags, shoes etc.are all imported. Stop patronizing USELESS inventions and educate ourselves with better ideas. All these fools with their so called inventions should contribute to build the educational system in the country. Let's train our children the best ways to grow/think and this will bring development. Stop publicizing such useless entities and write about acheivements by our little ones in schools.
