In fact, these days you meet quite a large number of people born and raised outside of Ghana who go to Ghana regularly as adults and even settle there. Remember, if you do not want to claim her someone else will. If she becomes a big time actress and you have a relative looking to break into the industry you will play the Ghanaian card. That is the irony of it. Ghanaians will reject foreign born and raised until they need their help. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Ghana has gone to the dogs and have not much to show for so we're claiming everybody. Truth of the matter is, these halfco's see the locals as inferior.

Idris Elba wasn't Ghanaian when he was stringer bell on the wire right? And he never claimed anything Ghanaian. But with the wire done, acting career not going anywhere and seeking to be in music, he's now claiming Ghanaian/African. Because he'll need a new market knowing well his fans in America are not about to stomach his music.
