Reagan Mends, the former manager of the late Terry Bonchaka, has triggered a massive reaction on social media following a statement he made about the late artiste.

In an interview with Class FM, monitored by GhanaWeb’s Joseph Henry Mensah on October 31, 2026, Reagan noted that he knew the late Hiplife musician would pass away at a young age.

According to him, although he had anticipated that his former artiste would die very young, he had no idea Terry Bonchaka would die sooner than he expected.

“I called my mother, and I told her that from the way things were going, I had a feeling that Terry might die young,” he said.

Reagan additionally recounted how a fetish priest in Tamale wanted to give Terry Bonchaka a protective charm, but the musician refused.

According to him, the late Terry Bonchaka refused because of his faith, adding that despite attempts to get the late musician to consider seeking spiritual guidance from other beliefs apart from the use of charms, he remained hesitant.

“Because prior to that, we went for a show in Tamale, and there was this man who told Terry that we had to do something for him. He advised us that, as a musician, you have to protect yourself and all that. But because Terry was a Jehovah’s Witness, you know that Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in those things.

“Even though I’m the one guiding, nobody sees me. So if something happens, let’s find someone. Even if it’s a pastor, let’s get a pastor who can protect you. And he said nobody can do anything to him,” he added.
