Many men hoping to enhance their profiles, careers or simply wanting to turn heads will often marry a "trophy" wife. Traditionally, a "trophy" wife is usually a young very attractive woman that a much older but very wealthy man marries (they are usually wife number 2,3,4 or more). They serve as an "adornment" to the man's image or vanity and are expected to be submissive and always available in return to having access to all the trappings that come with his supposedly fabulous riches or high profile. These days a trophy wife can also be a high profile woman with some public profile of her own. An actress, popstar , gospel artist, world class athlete, world class beauty contestant, high value professional or heiress can also serve the role of a " trophy" wife. But here is the problem, often as the relationship evolves there may emerge conflicts of interest especially if the so-called trophy wife decides to enhance or further build their own career. A much younger wife may after a while decide that she doesn't want to continue to be tethered to her aging husband and may be emboldened to leave them and strike out on their own at the first opportunity ( some cruelly refer to this breed as "gold diggers"). Increasingly we are also seeing the reverse situation arising in which a very wealthy or high profile woman who becomes unattached or is unmarried decides to have a considerably younger ( supposedly more virile) man as her partner or husband. Sadly the latter arrangements tend not to endure for long. I know of at least two cases where the individual concerned chose to have a trophy spouse in part just to spite an ex spouse because they constantly crowed about the youth, virility and intelligence of their new " Mr perfect" or "Mrs Perfect".
In saying that surprisingly some of these May-December marriages do end up working very well! This just goes to show how adaptable we humans are . You therefore cannot make blanket judgements about people.

Will your careers complement each other or will you each persue your careers with vigour and inevitably reduce the quality time you have with each other? Will you have a constant tug-of-war as you each insist on further promoting or enhancing your individual careers?
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR EACH PERSON TO BE VERY CLEAR IN THEIR MIND WHAT THEIR EXPECTATIONS ARE LONG BEFORE THEY TIE THE KNOT. THERE IS A PRICE TO BE PAID IF ONE OR BOTH MARRIAGE PARTNERS DECIDE TO CONTINUE TO PERSUE THEIR INDEPENDENT HIGH PROFILE CAREERS. THAT PRICE MAY BE UNACCEPTABLY HIGH FOR SOME PEOPLE. BE VERY REALISTIC AND HONEST WITH EACH OTHER OTHERWISE YOUR MARRIAGE WILL ALSO END UP IN THE GARBAGE CAN OF BROKEN DREAMS.
