Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has applauded Black Sherif for refusing to entertain online comparisons with rapper Kwaku Smoke, while mocking a social media user he accused of fueling unnecessary rivalry.

Speaking during an X Space, Shatta Wale praised Black Sherif’s ability to ignore distractions and remain focused despite attempts by some netizens to pit him against Kwaku Smoke.

“You see the way Black Sherif forget everybody. I like the way he just forgets these nonsense people. People even wan try to compare Kwaku Smoke; you see, he no wan pay attention to those things. You see the Gen Zs… no wonder I be Gen Z,” Shatta Wale said.

Shatta Wale then turned his attention to an X user whom he accused of constantly stirring conversations online. Mocking the person’s profile photo, he joked that it looked decades old and urged them to replace it with a more recent picture.

“Your picture for your profile top, like you cut am 1870. You think say you get something current. You for change am because road shows happen for there. Put your car for there,” he said.

The self-proclaimed African Dancehall King continued with more jabs, “Your picture where your headline go back, like if you get Kwame Nkrumah, you and am go do exchange. Presently, 1957 pass him. You wan battle Nkrumah with this haircut. Change your profile picture and post your car. And let your car be like my car or my profile picture. Respect yourself. You people, you no dey talk sense.”

Shatta Wale’s comments come amid ongoing online debates by some music fans who have sought to compare Black Sherif’s recent success with Kwaku Smoke’s growing influence in Ghana’s music scene.
