Massa, your thinking is very shallow. Those metal railings are safety apparatus that help ensure the safety of the general public. Unscrupulous people are stealing street lights, drain covers (leaving gaping holes on roads), bolts and nuts from electricity pylons, etc as well as properties from private homes and selling them for scrap metal. Yet you are here talking about monetary value of those items. The absence of those items can easily lead to the loss of lives or avoidable injuries to people. A country obsessed with cheap populism.

The scrap metal industry should be regulated and monitored closely.

@ Blue Pen, it is not about jail or not to jail. It's about the speed with which some in our society are jailed for their crimes, while others are either not or have the cases drag on for years until nolle prosequis often without reason/s. U might have heard about the frequent nolle prosequis when political criminals are involved. So the dangers u mentioned, caused by these petty criminals are real and true, but u must also equally ponder over the prevailing two tier justice system in this our country, and ask your conscience if it's right before God!

This guy was caught red-handed that is why the judgement was easy and quick, unlike other cases where it demands thorough investigations to ascertain the truth before judgement.

Hmmmmm! Yesterday, we all heard of fumigation totalling over 780 million cedis left out of the audittor general's report. These are some of the reasons why the country is stagnating and not developping. Poor Ghana
