Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has established that no content creation opportunity can convince her to abandon fashion designing, insisting the industry remains her long-term vision despite her growing online presence.
Speaking in a recent interview on Creative Tea, Veekee James said she sees herself charging at least $100,000 for a single dress within the next five years, making it difficult for any content creation deal to compete with her ambitions.

“I don’t know the content creation that can make me stop fashion designing. I don’t know the money I will see because that’s the brand that, in the next five years, I am seeing myself making one dress for $100k, if not more. One dress,” she said.
She added that even if content creation were to generate significant income, it would still not match the long-term value she sees in her fashion business.
“The content creation that will come and I will do maybe $500k a month, that will even be a contract for like a year,” she added.
Veekee James has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading fashion designers, dressing celebrities and public figures while also growing a large audience through lifestyle and fashion content on social media.

“My dream is to start charging $100k to sew one dress. I can’t make that much money from content creation. The most a brand can give you is $500k, and that’s usually for a year-long contract.”
