Music promoter Kay Nyame has questioned the feasibility of Shatta Wale reportedly charging a $1 million fee to perform at a show in the United Kingdom.
According to him, no promoter would be willing to pay such an amount for a single performance unless the arrangement involved a partnership in which the parties share the event's proceeds.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on September 3, 2026, Kay Nyame mentioned that it would be difficult for a promoter to raise such an amount, even with a bank loan.
“Nobody will be willing to pay $1m to Shatta Wale for a show in the UK, unless they are going for a partnership. Where will you get that money from? Even the bank won't accept to give you that amount of money,” he said.

Kay Nyame suggested that Shatta Wale’s reported $1 million fee could instead be a strategy to position himself as a highly valuable artiste in the international market.
“It’s just hype for him because it’s impossible. If you don’t sell yourself expensive, no one will buy, so he is selling himself,” he stated.
He further explained that some established artistes prefer partnership arrangements with promoters rather than demanding a fixed performance fee.
According to the promoter, such arrangements allow artistes and promoters to share the profits generated from the event after expenses have been accounted for.
“Most of the big artistes would say we should all contribute so that when there’s profit, then we all share it. Artistes don’t charge any amount of money and the same for the promoters. They divide the profit like 70/30 or 60/40,” he explained.
