Ghanaian music sensation M.anifest has found himself at the centre of a social media debate after commenting on the long queues and heavy traffic that characterised KFC Ghana’s 15th anniversary promotion on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The highly anticipated promotion saw hundreds of customers turn up at various KFC outlets across the country to take advantage of discounted meals, with some branches recording lengthy queues and chaotic scenes.

Reacting to the spectacle on X, sited by GhanaWeb on Sunday August 16, 2026, M.anifest questioned whether spending several hours in a queue for discounted fast food was really worth the time, fuel and inconvenience involved.

“Time is money. Hours of your life spent in a long line and chaos just to get discount named brand fast food. Even more bizarre are the air conditioned cars in line for eons burning expensive fuel. The math is not mathing. But last last yɛ diɛ oho bɛ tɔ wɔ,” he wrote.

However, while some social media users appeared to understand his point, others were quick to challenge the musician, arguing that Ghanaians often spend hours in queues and traffic for things they consider valuable or entertaining.

According to them, there was little difference between someone waiting for discounted KFC and a fan spending hours in traffic or standing in a queue to attend a musician’s concert.

The comparison soon became personal, with some users reminding M.anifest that fans also endure long journeys, traffic and queues to attend his shows.

Their argument was essentially that if people can choose to leave the comfort of their homes, spend money on transportation and wait for hours to watch an artiste perform live when they could stream his music or watch performances online, then someone else can equally decide that a discounted KFC meal is worth the wait.

The debate also highlighted just how much interest KFC’s 15th anniversary promotion generated. For many, the attraction was not simply the food but the opportunity to get a popular fast-food brand at a price significantly lower than usual.
