Media personality Cynthia Tima Yeboah, popularly known as Tima Kumkum, has confirmed the end of her second marriage, revealing that the union lasted for a year and nine months.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on August 12, 2026, Tima disclosed that she and her husband have been living separately since April 1, 2025, with their divorce case currently before the court.

According to the media personality, her children had developed a close relationship with her second husband and were particularly fond of him.

She explained that after he left their matrimonial home, her children initially asked about his whereabouts, prompting her to tell them that he had travelled.

However, after several months, Tima said she realised she could no longer hide the truth from them and had to explain that their father figure was no longer living with them.

“My marriage was on July 15, 2023, and we separated on April 1, 2025. One year and nine months, that’s how long it lasted…For seven years, we were living alone. There was no father; I was just the mother and father at the same time.

“So I was like, ‘God will bring a father.’ So, when I started dating my second husband, my children were so happy. They called him Daddy. They loved him, and he loved them too. He also has two kids.

“We had a very good family, but you cannot control nature. It just did not work out. The day we separated, on April 1, 2025, when he left home, my girl, in the morning, asked, ‘Mummy, where’s Daddy?’ Initially, I lied that he had travelled, but I realised I cannot lie again. After six months, I had to face reality and tell them, ‘Daddy is no more with us,’” she said.

Tima said she deliberately kept the matter private for some months because she did not want to publicly discuss the reasons behind the separation.

However, she explained that persistent questions about her relationship status eventually prompted her to address the situation herself and confirm that the marriage had ended.

“We don’t live together. I’m unbothered by any criticism. We need to call a spade a spade. You can’t hide it forever. When I was getting married everyone saw it so if it has ended, they need to know”

Tima described herself as “partially single”, explaining that although she and her husband are separated, she is not legally divorced because the matter is still before the court.

The couple got married on July 15, 2023, in a ceremony that attracted considerable public attention, particularly on social media.

Tima admitted that she never imagined the marriage would eventually come to an end, especially given the happiness it initially brought to her and her children.
