Ghana’s Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean Region, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD), has addressed ongoing rumors surrounding his son Kweku.

Speaking in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr FM, the veteran media personality made it clear that his son’s personal life and gender identity do not diminish his role or responsibility as a father

"Kweku is trans, so what? He's a grown man. It doesn't bother me. I deal with what I have control over. The things I have no control over I go on my knees and pray about," KKD stated.

Expanding on the difficulties of parenthood, KKD emphasized that parents should guide and love their children rather than try to forcefully construct or control who they become.

"Parents are shepherds, not engineers. You can have a son or daughter who's autistic, masochistic, or stubborn. It is not your fault," he explained.

Addressing critics and those who attempt to mock or criticize his family over the matter, the diplomat revealed that he responds with sympathy rather than anger toward their lack of understanding.

"When they say that, I don't tell them I'm annoyed at their comments, I tell them 'I pity you,'" KKD noted.
