Celebrated Highlife musician Ofori Amponsah has shared how his much-anticipated remix with Stonebwoy on his song “Odo Nwom” came about.

In an interview with Kafui Dey shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 7, 2026, Ofori Amponsah noted that Stonebwoy became part of the project following an encounter between them on a flight.

According to Ofori Amponsah, he informed the dancehall artiste about his decision to remix the song, adding that Stonebwoy, upon hearing of his plans, immediately asked to be featured on the project because of his love for the original song.

“I started thinking about remixing the song about two years ago. And so I did the song. I just went to the studio and re-recorded the song. And then, I was there thinking about somebody to do it with. Then we just met Stonebwoy; we were on a flight together.

“We met Stonebwoy and we were talking about the song. And he said, ‘Ah Charlie, this song is a song that I like.’ I said, ‘I’m remixing it.’ And he said, ‘Then give it to me,’” he said.

Ofori Amponsah, while sharing how KiDi became part of the song, noted that the artiste had been on his mind from the very beginning, making it an easy decision to involve him in the project.

“I wanted KiDi to be on the song before even Stonebwoy. So I had sent the song to KiDi already. And so after Stone recorded his part, KiDi also did it. And it was just like, it was kind of divine.

“I just consider myself a musician. I just create a song. What people call it, I don’t care. The song is doing good. I’m surprised at the reception of the song because I thought we were just joking with it, but it’s making waves,” he added.

I had already planned to have @KiDiMusic on the remix, so everything came together beautifully.
