Ghanaian gospel musician Eric Jeshrun has announced the return of “August Worship”, a Christian worship gathering that has been on a four-year break, with this year’s edition scheduled for August 30, 2026, at Cedar Mountain Chapel Assemblies of God.

Speaking at the press launch on August 7, 2026, Jeshrun said the programme traces its roots to his “Take to Christ campaign”, which began in 2009 to reach secondary school students struggling with drug abuse and other addictions.

According to him, more than 200 young people have since been impacted by the ministry, with August Worship eventually becoming an annual gathering for those reached through the campaign.

“August then became like a come together of all the young people that we were ministering to in the secondary schools and the universities. So when they come in the summer, in the month of August, we all gather for one big concert.

“The event started in 2011 and 2012 and gained momentum after a prophecy that it would become a national and eventually global gathering,” he said.

In 2013, Jeshrun said the programme took a major leap when it was held at the World International Conference Center on a large scale and for free.

He explained that August Worship could not be held from 2022 to 2025 due to his ministry and family commitments, including the establishment of Faith Gatherings Worldwide, which currently has branches in Accra, London and Canada. Jeshrun said the decision to revive the programme was received last year, although securing a venue became another challenge after the original conference centre announced renovation works.

“Only God knows what we've gone through to be able to get a venue. And I'm excited to announce to you that finally we got a venue. Cedar Mountain, Assembly of God Church,” he said.

This year’s edition, he stressed, will not be centred solely on music and entertainment but on spiritual transformation, prayer and national issues. Jeshrun said participants are expected to leave with renewed minds and a stronger commitment to living lives that reflect Christ.

“Our whole thought and whole purpose and whole ambition is that everyone who comes to this worship service would live transformed,” he stated.

He further disclosed that the programme will feature a special prayer session for Ghana, with this year’s gathering placing greater emphasis on what he described as “worship and warfare” for the nation.

“This year, there's going to be a lot more worship and warfare over our nation. We are believing in God that we'll find a permanent solution to the issue of galamsey,” he noted.

Beyond worship and prayer, Jeshrun said the programme has over the years been associated with testimonies of healing and breakthroughs, including a case where the mother of one of his singers was reportedly healed instantly during the 2015 edition.

He also recounted testimonies of people who had struggled to have children but later conceived after attending August Worship.

“It's been a birthing ground for miracles. And I believe that it will be a birthing ground not just for miracles as well, but also to work on transformation in our hearts.”

Jeshrun therefore urged Ghanaians, particularly those seeking spiritual renewal or divine intervention, to attend the free event with their families and friends.

“So don't stay at home. Come with your family, your friends. It's free,” he added.

This year's August Worship will feature Jeshrun alongside Isaiah Fosu Kwakye, Petra Odubayo, Noble G from Nigeria, and Team Eternity Ghana.
