Ghanaian TikToker Almed has dismissed reports that he and his friends were arrested by the Ghana Police over allegations that they were seen kissing.

The social media personality addressed the incident during a TikTok Live on August 4, 2026, where he explained what transpired between him, his friends, and a police officer, insisting that the situation had been misunderstood.

Later that night, Almed took to Snapchat to assure his followers that he and his friends were safe and had returned home, describing the incident as a misunderstanding that was resolved without any arrests.

“I am home and safe. My friends are fine. The issue was just a misunderstanding, and it was solved,” he wrote.

According to him, he was seated in a car with his friends when one of them leaned towards him to show him something on a mobile phone. Because the interior light of the vehicle was off, he claimed the police officer mistakenly assumed the two were kissing.

Meanwhile, videos of Almed’s confrontation with the police captured him challenging officers and questioning why he and his friends were being confronted.

He was seen furiously demanding answers from the police, "Where in the law does it say two men can't kiss? The last time, a police officer slapped me because of this same issue. I let that one slide, but this time, I'm on social media. I know my rights, and I won't go anywhere with you,” he said.

Almed added, "The police are here to tell me that they're arresting my friends just because they saw them kissing. Show me the picture! We're not going anywhere with you, and this is the second time this is happening. They just came and saw my friends sitting in the car, and you're telling me that they're kissing and there's a video or picture of them kissing.”
