Ghanaian comedian DKB has taken a swipe at New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator Dennis Miracles Aboagye following the latter’s criticism of reported transport fare hikes.

The exchange comes after the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) announced an upward adjustment in transport fares, citing rising fuel prices across the country.

It began when Dennis Aboagye posted on X that the new transport fares were already taking effect, describing the development as a direct blow to the cost of living.

“New fares have started coming through. A direct impact on the cost of living. The government needs to intervene ASAP. Electricity has already been increased by over 24% and water by over 16%,” he wrote.

Reacting to the post, DKB referenced a recent allegation against Dennis Aboagye concerning an alleged attempt to remove audit findings relating to a GH¢102.2 million bank account.

“Bring the GH¢102 million you wanted to hide so we subsidise fuel with it,” DKB wrote.

The comedian accompanied his post with a screenshot of a GhanaWeb headline that read: “Dennis Aboagye sought removal of audit findings on GH¢102.2 million bank account – IMCC.”

The exchange has since generated reactions on social media, with users debating both the reported transport fare increases and the allegations involving the former government official.
