Ghanaian-American R&B singer James Ghartey, popularly known as Jay Ghartey, has reunited with Felivian, the video vixen who starred in the music video for his hit song My Lady, 16 years after the visuals captured the hearts of many music lovers.

The emotional reunion comes after Felivian recently opened up about her mental health struggles, which led to her disappearance from the entertainment scene for several years.

In a video shared on social media, Jay Ghartey expressed excitement about reconnecting with the former model, revealing that he had received countless messages from fans asking about her whereabouts over the years.

"I greet you all. I have a big surprise for you, and you're going to love it. I've been listening to a lot of people, so follow me," he said.

According to the singer, one of the defining moments during the My Lady video shoot was the decision to have Felivian appear without a wig. This move ultimately made the visuals more authentic and relatable.

"The first time we met on set, she came with so much makeup and a beautiful weave on. My senior brother said no; we wanted her to be natural. We wanted all the kids who were in school with short hair to be able to relate to the model," he stated.

He continued, "We asked her to remove the wig. The directors asked us if we were sure we wanted her to remove it, and we said yes. That was what made it so fantastic because people could relate to her. She has some magic, so we had to come back and feel the vibes."

Jay Ghartey went on to reveal that fans have never stopped asking about the woman who featured in the iconic music video.

"I get hundreds of messages about this, my lady, Felivian the model, the queen of Frafra," he shared.

Speaking at the reunion, an emotional Felivian thanked Ghanaians for the love and support they have shown her and expressed appreciation to Jay Ghartey for making the effort to visit her.

"Thank you fans; thank you Ghanaians. I love all of you. In fact, Jay Ghartey and I love you so much. The impact and the words you've shared have actually motivated him to fly all the way from Tamale to Accra,” she noted.

Felivian added, "It's not easy, and plane tickets are not cheap, but he did it all because of the love you have shown me. Keep pushing his music; let's support him and help me as well.”
