Mass it is what you do with that big income after you have deducted your taxes and overheads that really counts. There are Ghanaians from diverse walks of life who never earned anywhere near what you take but guess what they are multimillionaires today in dollar, euro and pound terms .You know why? because they developed the discipline to be frugal, avoid wasteful expenditure (the biggest of these being trying to impress people or show off by buying depreciating assets such as expensive cars ,or spending a fortune on bling designer clothing etc). They avoided the extravagant lifestyle. Some of these Ghanaians multimillionaires were at one point of their career earning less than $30,000 /year but about 15-30 years later were earning 10-50 times as much ANNUALLY because of prudent investments in real estate, securities, precious metals and many more and saving. Today they are multimillionaires and most Ghanaian millionaires (many of whom live abroad) do not feel the need to flaunt their wealth or have a desire to show off or prove to friends or family that they have made it big. THEY LEARN TO AVOID INDEBTEDNESS VERY EARLY IN THEIR CAREERS OR VOCATIONS (I.E THEY LIVE WITHIN OR BELOW THEIR MEANS) AND ALSO UNDERSTAND THE CRITICAL NEED TO HAVE INTEGRITY IN ORDER TO HAVE WEALTH THAT ENDURES.
MASSA YOUR EARNING POWER WILL NEVER BY ITSELF TRANSLATES INTO GREAT WEALTH, RATHER IT IS HOW MUCH OF THIS YOU CAN PUT TO WORK FOR YOU. WHEN YOU EVENTUALLY RETIRE MASSA, WILL YOU BE ABLE TO AFFORD A DECENT LIFESTYLE BASED ON YOUR CURRENT SPENDING HABITS?
