As Ghana prepares to take on the world stage for the fifth time in its football history, gospel musician and pastor Sonnie Badu has added his voice to the prayers and well-wishes from Ghanaians.
In a post on his Facebook handle on June 1, 2026, Badu shared his well-wishes to the team, pleading with them not to let the country down as they head to North America for the 2026 World Cup.
"Dear Blackstars, I wish you all the best as you embark on this incredible opportunity to prove your worth.
“Remember, football is Ghana's pride, and the world is watching. Please, don't let us down. May God be with you all,” he posted.
His comments come following the announcement of Ghana's final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Coach Carlos Queiroz named a 26-man squad for the tournament, with captain Jordan Ayew leading the charge alongside key players including Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Iñaki Williams.
The confirmed squad also means Ghana will be without former skipper Dede Ayew and star forward Mohammed Kudus, who will not be part of the World Cup journey.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign on June 17 in Toronto against Panama, before facing one-time champion England in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on June 23, and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
