Long before building one of Ghana’s most successful music labels, Richie Mensah nearly lost confidence in his abilities.
Richie Mensah has shared how a painful criticism from an international music expert nearly broke his confidence during the early days of his career.
Speaking on a podcast, the Lynx Entertainment boss recounted that while working with Wonder World Records, an industry professional listened to a number of his songs and strongly disapproved of them.
According to Richie, the expert felt the songs were below standard and even suggested that the label drop him entirely.

“A music expert listened to my songs and said they were not good enough. He even said they should drop me from the label,” he said
The music producer admitted the moment was heartbreaking for him, especially as one song after another was rejected during the session.
“I went home and cried like a baby,” he revealed.
Richie explained that although the criticism hurt deeply, a friend later encouraged him to use the setback as motivation rather than giving up on music.
That advice, he said, helped him develop a stronger mindset and changed the way he responds to pressure and criticism in the music industry today.
Today, Lynx Entertainment stands as one of Ghana’s leading record labels.
