Ghanaian journalist MzGee has levelled a series of allegations against actress Nana Ama McBrown over what she describes as betrayal during her time as host of United Showbiz on UTV.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, which went viral on social media on May 20, 2026, MzGee accused McBrown of remaining silent while she endured intense backlash and bullying online after taking over as host of the show.

MzGee explained that before accepting the role, she personally informed McBrown out of respect for the role she had previously played on the programme and even sought her blessings before stepping onto the set.

“People felt I was the reason their idol resigned as host of the show. I want to put this on record: when I was approached to host United Showbiz, one of the first things I did was to send her a message to inform her about it and even ask for her blessings before going on set,” she said.

MzGee further stated that she expected McBrown to defend her publicly when social media users accused her of being responsible for the actress’s exit from the show.

According to her, the online attacks took a serious emotional and mental toll on her.

“So when people were insulting me on social media, I expected McBrown to say something. It was very painful because she gave me her blessings before I started hosting the show.

“When people began insulting me, she could have simply said the girl was not the problem. But she left me out there for people to rubbish me, claiming I was the reason she was sacked. I learnt a lot of lessons from hosting United Showbiz,” she added.
