A King Paluta hit has found its way from the airwaves into the examination halls of the University of Ghana.

A question paper from the Department of Psychology's PSYC333: Psychology of Personality course, sat during the 2025/2026 First Semester Examinations, featured the Ghanaian musician's breakout hit "Makoma" as the basis of one of its exam questions.

Question one on the paper directed students to draw on theories and concepts from their semester-long personality psychology course to identify and explain the key aspects of the persona portrayed in the song.

The question referenced the song's lyrics "checke personality" a call by King Paluta for listeners to assess the persona's character.

The paper, set by Professor Enoch Teye-Kwadjo for distance education students, gave candidates two hours to answer any two of four questions, all carrying equal marks.

The inclusion of the song in a university-level psychology exam has since gone viral.

Language wouldn't have been a barrier – WAEC defends use of King Paluta's Aseda in BECE

But this is not the first time King Paluta has found himself on an exam paper.

His hit song "Aseda" appeared in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), where WAEC's Creative Arts paper asked students to identify two major social issues addressed in the song.

The inclusion drew public criticism at the time, prompting WAEC's Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, to defend the decision in a radio interview.

The song had earlier won Best Highlife Song at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, making its academic appearance all the more fitting.
