Ghanaian singer KiDi has revealed that he once believed Sarkodie harboured resentment toward him after some of his old tweets criticising the rapper resurfaced online.

Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix shared on social media on May 17, 2026, KiDi mentioned that he was genuinely surprised when Sarkodie personally invited him to perform at the London edition of Rapperholic.

“When Sarkodie called me and said he wanted me to be at Rapperholic in London, I was surprised. In all honesty, a couple of years back, my old tweets about Sarkodie resurfaced online. I always felt at the back of my mind that maybe he hated me,” he said.

According to KiDi, he had assumed that even if Sarkodie did not openly express any resentment, he might still have held some negative feelings toward him.

“Even if he doesn’t, he won’t say it, but he has some motive about me in his head. He called me to say that he will be in the UK for his first ever concert there and he would want me to be around. It shocked me because I least expected that from him,” he stated.

KiDi said Sarkodie’s gesture made him realise how forgiving and large-hearted the rapper is.

“I thought about it several times and asked myself, why me? He’s friends with everyone in the industry and he could have called everybody, so I was so grateful. That made me realise he has a big heart enough to understand that I was a child at that time and he didn’t take all the negative tweets to heart,” he shared.

The ‘Lomo Lomo’ hitmaker recounted that during the trip, Sarkodie also invited him to join an interview session with Apple Music, further demonstrating his goodwill.

“When we got there, Apple Music interviewed him and he invited me to be in the studio with him,” he said.

Although he remains embarrassed by the resurfaced tweets, KiDi said the experience taught him an important lesson about being mindful of what to post online.

“I’m embarrassed about the tweets, so I don’t know how I’m going to begin, even if I want to discuss it with him. I wish I could go on a tour to advise young people on social media that they should know what to say on the internet because, at the end of the day, it will come back,” he noted.

He further praised Sarkodie for putting the issue behind them and embracing him as a younger brother.

“The fact that he’s been able to put that aside and still receive as his younger brother says a lot about him,” he added.
