Nigerian Afrobeats star Mr Eazi has opened up about the financial sacrifices his father made to educate him and his sister in Ghana.

In a resurfaced interview that has gone viral on social media, the “Leg Over” hitmaker recounted how his father once called him into his room, showed him his salary, and then sent the siblings to the university.

According to Mr Eazi, his father earned about $10,000 monthly at the time, but the total cost of funding their education far exceeded that amount.

“I remember going to school for the first time, and dad showed me how much salary [he was] paid, and then he showed me my school fees. I was like 15 going on 16. He said ‘your school fees is seven thousand dollars per year, my salary is ten thousand dollars,” he recounted.

The singer said that moment stayed with him because it made him fully understand the level of sacrifice and commitment his parents made to secure a good future for their children.

Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade, later moved to Ghana to study at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where his music journey began.
