Kofi Owusu Aduonum, the husband of Guinness World Record singathon contender Afua Asantewaa, has clarified a viral video involving their daughter during a period of misunderstanding between the couple.
It may be recalled that a video surfaced online in which Afua Asantewaa’s daughter was heard saying she no longer remembered her father.
The clip sparked reactions on social media, with some users criticising the child and describing her as disrespectful and ungrateful.

Speaking during a recent TikTok live session monitored by GhanaWeb on April 28, 2026, Kofi Owusu Aduonum stated that his daughter’s comment had been taken out of context.
According to him, some people deliberately twisted her words to create tension and cause division within the family.
“It is not true; she didn’t say that, and they took it out of context—a version of what she said. The full video captured where she admitted and acknowledged that I was not with them at that particular moment, but I wasn’t absent. So it was a calculated way to incite her against me,” he said.

Kofi Owusu Aduonum also thanked Ghanaians for their support and goodwill during the period of misunderstanding between him and Afua Asantewaa.
“It was quite unfortunate because they were trying to drum something into her head and create discord between my daughter and me. We thank you for your warm wishes and prayers,” he added.
