Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has opened up about what triggered his long-standing feud with his colleague Obrafour.

In an interview on Citi FM, shared on X on April 7, 2026, Okyeame Kwame revealed that the tension began after he and Obour released their song, "Killing The Game".

According to him, the song was intended to address challenges within the music industry.

“Best of Life was Obour’s project, and he is a close friend of mine. We did everything together, so one day we decided to do a song critiquing the industry. When we released it, some artistes thought we were dissing them because we were bold enough to speak out. But I included myself as part of the problem, as a contributor to the issues.

“I think the industry wasn’t mature enough to reflect on itself at the time… I believe that is how Obrafour might have felt,” he said.

Okyeame Kwame further explained that after the song's release, some artistes, including Obrafour, may have misunderstood its intent, which possibly led to the release of Obrafour’s "Nkasiebo", which featured Guru.

According to him, "Nkasiebo" indirectly targeted him.

Reflecting on the impact the song had on him, Okyeame Kwame said: “I was eating fufu at Tech when I heard the song, and I was heartbroken. I called to ask him about it, and his response was not what I expected. It escalated into something bigger, and every night, I wrote about four diss verses aimed at him.”

He also recounted how his wife, then a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), advised him not to respond.

“I wanted to reply, but my wife said it would affect my brand. My mother also said it was not Christ-like. At the time, I was at Tech, and my academic tutor called me into a meeting. They told me that if I released a diss track in response, I should not greet them again when I saw them,” he added.
