Most of the comments coming from various people on this Abu Trica matter are not that he did wrong and he needs to pay for it. They focus on why he should have kept a low profile and not flaunted his wealth, how he did not even share his money, how they would behave differently with their wealth if they were him. I have yet to see anyone condemning the get rich quick attitude that is so prevalent among us today, the crimes this and other guys committed to defraud their victims. It is a disturbing reflection of our values (or lack thereof), where the upright person is not one who does right, but one who just hasn't been caught, or one who knows how to manage his ill-gotten gains under the radar. So sad - what are we becoming as a nation?
