I truly cannot understand how we arrived at this point. Yes, Akosua is the legal wife. But many of us never even knew she existed until after the passing of Daddy Lumba. Does her status erase the years of humanitarian work done by the woman Ghanaians quickly labeled as the side chick, the same woman the entire world recognized as his partner? I question the way we think as a people. The moment money becomes involved, we fall back into tired stereotypes. Six children, constant public appearances with the deceased, a visible presence in his life that everyone saw, while another remained hidden in Europe and unknown to the fan base. This sudden shift in narrative makes no sense. We need to be honest with ourselves.

Efo, if what is being said is true that Lumba left on the account of going to seek traditional healing and ADVICED the first wife to stay so their children who were young and in school could have the home, then it’s only fair she claims her title. I leave abroad and one of the lady’s who braids my children’s hair was just abandoned by her husband. They have 3 kids. He dropped off the last one at the bus stop and jumped on a plane to Ghana. This woke is struggling with her children moving them around every time she has a client. I support her financially. Just this summer, we heard the man is leaving with a woman. He’s taking credit card loans and bills keep coming to their house. It’s a long story but this could have been Akosua Serwa.
It’s been alleged that she is a peaceful woman and never wants to engage in a fight or argument and literally protected Lumba over the years. It’s alleged that once she realized the help was now beating children for Lumba, she kept it under wrap to the extent of not visiting her matrimonial home when she was in Ghana but instead staying at their second home. She deserves to fight for what belongs to her.
As a nurse, I can also understand the fatigue that comes with caring for a loved one. That is why I believe the Second Lady deserves recognition however, she needs to stop parading herself as a first wife but rather a concubine. Each played a role in his life. In the end, I blame DL because he should have been assertive and left things clearly documented. It’s a lesson for all of us.

She has actively shown up, raised six children, and made public appearances that affirm her role. Can we truly say that Akosua Serwaa could not have appeared even once? In Ghana, when children are involved, the dynamics naturally shift. While the first wife may retain her position, the second lady has undeniably earned her place as well. It is important to recognize and be honest about the roles both women have played.

I am a sub-chief, but before I was elected by the family to take the position I told my relatives that in case die, my dust must be cremated.
Then just about two weeks ago as a result of these disputes in the Dada Lumba family, I came across a court ruling which states, the dead person is not alive so cannot decide things for people who are alive.
It's the living who will cater for your corrupted dust, thus you cannot burden them.
Thus the dead person belongs to the family. There are two traditional inheritance system in Ghana, namely paternal and maternal.
So, in the nutshell, its the head of family in both systems, who decides on how to bury his or her absent family member or relative.
So, I don't know why people still take amusement in washing the corrupted dust of Dada Lumba in public.
