A they say, "ignorance is bliss”. “Guru” seems to think that leading a country is the same process as the elementary politics of the SRC. It is very presumptuous to think that having some experience as an SRC President prepares or qualifies a person to lead a country like Ghana which has so many complex and intractable problems.
Just having a desire to lead does not qualify a person to be a leader let alone become the leader of a country like Ghana. The same presumptuousness is sometimes demonstrated by some rich of famous/popular public figures. They wrongly assume that public adulation qualifies them to lead.
It takes a person who has been seasoned by life's harsh experiences, who has risen above adversity and therefore developed the mental fortitude, courage, tenacity, patience and wisdom to lead a nation. These character traits often take decades to develop and refine. ALL GREAT LEADERS HAVE A "SERVANT SPIRIT". ALL GREAT LEADERS HAVE A VISION FAR GREATER THAN THAT OF THE AVERAGE MIND AND ALL GREAT LEADERS HAVE THE STAYING POWER, COURAGE AND INTEGRITY TO BRING THINGS ABOUT.
They are people who by their selfless devotion to duty and the force of their personality (think of the example of Mandela) can inspire countless other people to work for change and seek higher things for themselves and their country. Nation building is not for the faint hearted. SIMPLY OCCUPYING AN OFFICE OR POSITION DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON A LEADER. A PERSON HAS TO HAVE BEEN REFINED BY THE “CRUCIBLE OF LIFE’S AFFLICTIONS” TO BE AN EFFECTIVE LEADER.
LEADERS WITH THAT SORT OF STATURE ARE RARE TO FIND THESE DAYS.
