He could not help his party because he was too busy looting Ghana government contracts and doing all he could to fend off banks that were trying to collect on loans he that he had not paid. Besides, his NPP was a huge beneficiary of galamsey funds, and it would have made no sense for him to try ending an evil practice of galamsey that just happened to be a lucrative source of funding for his party.

For your information, the NDC government has taken steps against galamsey. The same can't said about the NPP government that saw President Akufo-Addo publicly defending galamsey crooks Wontumi and Aisha Huang by falsely claiming that these two galamsey bandits were not engaging in any galamsey activities. The NDC government is fighting galamsey, and it will undoubtedly be brought to an end, though the pace may be slower than what most Ghanaians want to see. The NPP government spent eight years looking the other way while galamsey continued with impunity. A real fight against galamsey is now unfolding.

How can NPP loudmouths complain about galamsey not being brought to an end in just one year that the NDC has been in office when the same NPP confused drunks can't remember that they spent eight years doing nothing about galamsey other than lie to Ghanaians that the NPP was fighting galamsey? The shame rather rests on NPP nation-wreckers who spent eight years looting while neglecting to fight galamsey.
