  Even if DL died intestate, his properties will be shared equally among all his kids. You will get just a tiny fraction of it. Fight for your kids instead.

  What are you talking about? Can cite any law that suggests she will not get anything ? Were you expecting her to stop lumba from sleeping with other women? Do you have any proof to suggest she wasn't in his life?

  Even if she was separated from Lumba for thirty years at the time of his death, Serwaa still maintains her full marital rights since no dissolution of marriage had been granted by any court, and those rights will be determined by whether Lumba died testate (with a will) or intestate (without a will). And it doesn't matter if Lumba had thirty children with Broni, that too doesn't take away Serwaa's marital rights; the only difference here is that those children, though born out of wedlock, are still entitled to a share of the estate, and only Lumba's adult children can be disinherited provided he had a will excluding them from any share in the estate. All of Lumba's minor children, regardless of which woman bore them, cannot be be disinherited. You can disinherit adult children in a will, but you can't disinherit minor children.

  There is no way the law won't have some protection for Odo Broni. She stayed with DL for so many years, had children with him and performed wifely duties. In some jurisdiction, when you stay with a woman in the same household for a set number of years, she is regarded as a domestic partner, and she enjoys some level of protection. There are so many women in Ghana who are living with men in Ghana but have not been legally married but society regard them as married people. Serwa Broni deserves protection because in my view she really stuck it out with Lumba when he needed support the most. We saw them in public as couples. It will be unreasonable for any judge to give credence to this injunction. The best the judge can do in this situation is to constitute a mediation committee to intervene and resolve all issues internally among all the parties involve without ruling in favor of anyone per se.

  Odo Broni can refer to Lumba as her anything except her husband, period! The truth must be ruled so other young ladies don't make similar mistakes.

Read the summons she is only requesting her acknowledgement as a legal wife, input into the planning of the funeral and most importantly her enviable right to perform the widowhood rite in accordance to LAW and TRADITION.

To demonstrate validity of that marriage to Ghana courts, she will need to produce a certified copy of that marriage certificate from the agency in the country where the marriage is registered. It's birth certificates of babies born in foreign lands that have be registered with embassies to prove right of citizenship, but not marriage certificates.
