Marriage is not for the immature or faint hearted. It is not for those who are self-centred or narcissistic. It is not for those who cannot commit to be faithful to a spouse. It is not for those who do not understand that the warm fuzzy feeling which some call "love" quickly fades away after the marriage ceremony. In healthy growing marriages this fuzzy feeling is eventually replaced by a steadily growing friendship and companionships, committed and sacrificial love. This is a process which takes years to bear rich fruit.

THE MARRIAGE JOURNEY IS A MARATHON ON AN OFTEN-BUMPY ROAD.
After a couple of decades, I can now truly say that my spouse is my best friend and vice versa. It did not happen overnight. It did not happen after a year. It did not happen after 5 years but each year the relationship grew and became more beautiful as we battled our way through thick and thin and all the challenges that are associated with being a couple and a family. The relationship matured as we learned to adjust to each other and be considerate towards each other. The peace and contentment that comes after years of perseverance is a prize worth striving for. A shared faith based on the Holy Scripture remains our sure and tested instructions and guidebook.
There is no such thing as a "perfect marriage" and there are no shortcuts in marriage. But near perfection is possible especially when God is invited to be a participant in this most challenging of relationships.

I know the type.They are the kind who will spend a small fortune buying an expensive watch or a pair of designer glasses or trainers even though there is isn't enough money to pay for the groceries their wife and children need. I call them BABY MEN.They have countless selfies of themselves online and on social media in various poses. It is sickening. Pray that if you have a daughter she doesn't end up with a narcissistic character like that- sadly they are the type that many superficial women are attracted to and get hitched to them only to discover rather too late that they married a paper cut-out of a "husband".

As an adult everyone should know and have the basic skill of cooking and cleaning, instead he wants you to be his bangmaid. This type of man will ruin you both financially, he is not someone to build a future with. DO NOT get pregnant with this man, he will not help you with the baby nor assist with any household chores, and you situation will get worse.
