When I married my wife so many years ago, we had the traditional marriage ceremony and the "white" wedding a week apart. After the traditional ceremony, we decided to do some photo shoots before the church wedding because that was what was creeping into our Ghanaian system.

In one of the photo shoot sessions, my wife told me to take the ring I put on her finger during the traditional ceremony, kneel and pretend like I am proposing to her for the first time for the shot. I told her that wouldn't happen in any way, shape or form. We are still married with two kids and going on.

The guy wanted to propose without kneeling. The lady wants him to propose while kneeling. None of them is wrong. However, if they can't agree on something which is not an African thing, they are better off finding me partners because marriage is not child's play unless "forever and ever, till death do us part" is not what they want.
