THE PEOPLE OF GA ADANGME SHOULD KNOW THAT IS THE PRICE THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCEPTING TO BE THE CAPITAL OF GHANA. THEY CANNOT EAT THEIR CAKE AND HAVE IT BACK!!! THEIR CULTURE AND IDENTITY WILL BE SHATTERED IN PLACE OF DEVELOPMENT AND INTERCHANGES.
WHICHEVER IDIOT IS LEADING THIS SHOULD GO AND LEARN ABOUT RED INDIANS AND MOHICANS OF AMERICA!!!
NO ONE WILL BE FORCED TO LEARN GA. LANGUAGE IS NOT FORCED BUT IS A CHOICE. I WILL NOT LET MY 5 CHILDREN LEARN GA OR ADANGME. I WILL TEACH THEM HAUSA OR FRENCH BECAUSE THEY ARE BETTER OFF WITH THOSE.
IN GHANA APART FROM CHORKOR AND JAMESTOWN NO PLACE IS GA SPOKEN. NOBODY UNDERSTANDS GA IN BOLGA TAMALE KINTAMPO OR WA.
BUT THEY CAN SPEAK TWI. DID ANYONE FORCE THEM TO LEARN AND SPEAK TWI???? NONSENSE!!!

I don't understand, is everyone living in Accra a Ga? As a nation the only way forward for us with over 50 dialect is to stick with the English language and let the traditionalist preserve their own dialects.

Well spoken my, my dear. I am Ashanti from the Atwima Nwabiagya District. We the Ashantis are so proud of our their Language to the point where Ghanaians used to laugh at us that, we can't speak English. I have noticed something in ghana, these Gans have sold their native language for English. The question is .,how do you force me to speak your language which you yourself abhor it. These Ga boys and girls rattle English on radios and TV stations as if they were born in Buckingham Palace. Speak your English and dont force anyone to speak your extinct language. Please make a conscious effort to revive . As the adage goes , charity begins at home. Start from your houses , and I am sure others may join you ,if they want. BRAVO!!! MRS GOMASHIE

what is this stupidity about? Educational policy is not dictated by traditional leaders? How the hell do you force someone's child to learn your language. If you want to make your language more prominent, teach your own children. what is this nonsense about Ga language Ga language. If you go to Tamale today, Twi is spoken almost everywhere. I don't see any complaints. There is something called lingua franca. In Ghana, twi is our lingua franca. it's not about any one tribe dominating another. The twi language does not belong to any one tribe. Akan is not a tribe. It's a language group. The reason it's the dominant language is because Akans are 70 percent of the population of Ghana. What other language should be dominant? What is this nonsense??

@ama stop being stupid the fact that you can write does not make you educated. Now let me educate you on this, nobody imposing the Ga language on you however to preserve the language we must make sure it is tought at basic level across the greater Accra region. And this is done only in the government schools. It’s simple as abcd what is the noise about this. Even with the akan regions we have different twi being tought in different regions. I did akuapem twi in the eastern region and my other siblings did Fante in the central region. So what is this silly noise about?

GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS WILL NOT BE USED AS THE CATALYST TO PRESERVE A SO CALLED GA LANGUAGE!! WHAT IS THOUGHT IN SCHOOLS ARE ARE TO COMPLIMENT THE INFORMAL SECTOR TEACHING AND LEARNING NOT FOR LANGUAGE PRESERVATION.
FOOLISH PEOPLE!! WHEN AKANS WERE SPEAKING TWI ALL OVER GHANA AND INTERNATIONALLY AND JOKINGLY PRETENDED AS IF THEY CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH YOU IDIOTS WERE MAKING FUN OF THEM AND CALLING THEM ALL SORT OF NAMES!!!
WHAT YOU DIDNT KNOW WAS THEY WERE INTENTIONALLY PRESERVING THEIR LANGUAGE AND IDENTITY. MMOAAA NOW YOU ARE OUT HERE CRYING FOR GOVERNMENT POLICY!!! IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!!!
ACCRA IS THE CAPITAL CITY AND SHOULD DEAL WITH THE MULTIPLE INFLUX OF LANGUAGES. GA SHOULD BE THOUGHT AT HOME!!! TRAIN YOUR CHILDREN AND THE NEXT GENERATIONS.
