Please Pastor, I think that we have more problems with laziness in Ghana than with people overworking. If anything our Men of God ought to be encouraging Ghanaians to work harder and more strategically rather than doing the very minimum they need to do to get by. If you look at countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam they all started at the same economic level as Ghana in the 1950s but today have pulled far ahead of us. It pains me to say this but one of the reasons for the great strides made by these countries is the fact that PEOPLE THERE REALLY DO WORK VERY HARD AND FOR LONGER HOURS THAN IS GENERALLY THE CASE IN GHANA.
If Ghanaians increased their work output or productivity by even 25% Ghana would be transformed economically beyond recognition within 10 years. Countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and especially China are making progress in leaps and bounds because people understand the connection between working hard and earning a good wage. Pastor the Bible devotes a lot more time exhorting and encouraging people to work hard and honestly rather than telling them to take it easy in order not to die prematurely. Pastor your exhortations may actually apply to people in countries like South Korea and Japan where people sometimes simply drop dead from overwork.
SO WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO YOU OSOFO I THINK YOU SHOULD ENCOURAGE US TO WORK HARDER AND HONESTLY TO CREATE A BETTER STANDARD OF LIVING FOR OURSELVES AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
"The Bible teaches that hard work is valued, originating from God's design for humans in Genesis. Passages such as Colossians 3:23, Proverbs 10:4, and Ecclesiastes 9:10 emphasize working diligently and putting in full effort, even to the point of not eating if one refuses to work, as Paul advises in 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Christians are encouraged to work for the Lord, do honest work to provide for their needs and share with others, and avoid laziness, which the Bible warns can lead to poverty".
AND US WE ALL KNOW POVERTY IS THE BIGGEST DIRECT AND INDIRECT KILLER IN GHANA TODAY.
Many of us need to give up the habit of living for free handouts, borrowing etc to make ends meet. WE ALSO NEED TO REALLY GIVE UP OUR TENDENCY TO LOOK FOR SHORTCUTS TO WEALTH AND FINANCIAL SECURITY. THE ROAD TO ALL TRUE SUCCESS AND THE ROAD TO FINANCIAL SECURITY IS PAVED WITH HONEST HARD WORK, PATIENCE ,COURAGE, SACRIFICE AND TENACITY.

U have raised some good points , however , the Osofo never told us to be lazy . He pointed out the need to pause and rest. In the book of proverbs , we are told not to work until our bodies are worn out. Who says those of us living in Ghana don't work hard.? We do it with a low salary. I did drive for Bolt for almost 24 hrs and yet didn't get anything to show for. We do work hard.. I can stick out my neck and tell the whole world that we in Ghana also work hard . I say this as hard working farmer.
