We have to take him at his word unless there are irrefutable contradictory evidence. Additionally, the car is alleged to have been stolen in America not in Ghana, and the person who who has been charged is a felon serving time in an American prison who may be looking for leniency by implicating Shatta.

  These Ghanaian fake celebrities have been buying stolen cars for decades so if Shatta goes to jail the others will refrain from doing so. So this is opportunity for U.S to stop this type of crime , if they so wish.
